OIL PAINTING RESTORATION
When environmental factors or accidental damage has required the need for oil painting restoration, an extensive range of conservation methods are available to stabilise and repair the painting. Common treatments include cleaning, repairing tears, re-lining the canvas and stabilising cracked and lost paint.
WATERCOLOUR & WORK ON PAPER
The restoration of watercolour paintings and works on paper can be a particularly delicate process. Paintings are often completed on fragile paper, and are more susceptible to tears, punctures, mould and insect infestation. Other issues that affect watercolours and works on paper can include foxing and acid damage from mounts and backing boards.
Whether a frame is aged, tarnished, or damaged, careful frame restoration will provide the necessary structural support your artwork needs, and will complement it well aesthetically. Cracking and missing decorative areas can all be repaired, and the frames can be cleaned and re-gilded.
